California Commercial Real Estate Summit - Frequently Asked Questions

What is The California Commercial Real Estate Summit?

The California Commercial Real Estate Summit (CCRES) is a two-day event in August where commercial real estate professionals meet with state assemblymembers, senators, and their staff members in order to educate them on the work we do and the issues that matter to us. This allows our industry to develop relationships with lawmakers in order to raise our profile and elevate our voice in Sacramento.

What is the Cost to Attend?

The registration fee is $250 if you sign up by August 4th, and $300 after August 4th. If you'd like to attend the welcome reception only, there is a fee of $100.

What Should I Know Prior to the Event?

CBPA will email attendees the week prior to the event with all of the information you will need. There will also be informational sessions held via Zoom prior to the event on Thursday, August 17th at 9 a.m. and Monday, August 21st at 4 p.m.

How are the Meetings with Lawmakers Arranged?

Upon registration, you will be asked to enter your personal and business addresses. This will ensure we can arrange meetings with your specific state assemblymembers/senators. You will likely attend 1-2 meetings, which tend to run about 30 minutes each.

Who Should Attend CCRES?

CCRES is open to everyone in the commercial real estate industry. Property managers, owners, brokers, developers, real estate attorneys, and those in related fields are encouraged to attend. If you are passionate about protecting the interests of our industry, CCRES is for you!

Do I Need to be Involved in Government Affairs to Attend?

No. CCRES is an event for everyone, regardless of how familiar you are with government affairs. This event is an opportunity to learn about the legislative process and how it affects the work of commercial real estate professionals. CCRES is a great way for those unfamiliar with government affairs to get engaged!

Will Meals Be Provided?

On Tuesday, August 22nd, heavy appetizers and beverages will be provided at the reception at Prelude. Attendees are encouraged to make dinner arrangements with their local delegations, which CBPA will help to coordinate as the event gets closer. On Wednesday, August 23rd, breakfast will be provided, as well as an informal lunch with heavy appetizers.

Will Talking Points be Provided?

Yes, CBPA will provide talking points prior to the event and make sure you are prepared to meet with lawmakers.
