INDUSTRY SPONSORED LEGISLATION |
CBPA aims to take a proactive approach to solving challenges impacting the commercial real estate industry. In addition to advocating against harmful legislation, its crucial for our industry to work to introduce solutions to the problems our members and industry face. This year, CBPA has partnered with lawmakers to introduce legislation aimed at streamlining processes. |
AB 2904 - Zoning Transparency - SIGNED INTO LAW Authored by Assemblymember Sharon Quirk-Silva; D - Fullerton This legislation would change the current law by requiring a longer notice period of 60 days to be given to property owners before a public hearing is held on a proposed zoning ordinance or amendment. This notice must include details about the proposed changes, the purpose of the ordinance, and information on how property owners can participate in the hearing. The notice must also be posted on the local government's website. This bill would apply to all cities, including charter cities, and may result in increased costs for local governments, which the state may reimburse. Status: Passed the Legislature – Signed into law. Questions? Contact Skyler Wonnacott at swonnacott@cbpa.com. |
