2024 HONOREES
Phillip Tate is senior vice president of development and government affairs at Kilroy Realty Corporation, serving as in-house land use and development counsel. He oversees Kilroy’s government affairs activities, and interfaces with government officials regarding various issues related to Kilroy’s properties and policies that impact the business climate in the markets where Kilroy invests. Phil specializes in land use entitlements, administrative and legislative advocacy, and environmental compliance. Phil is active in the business community, serving as chair of the CBPA PACs, chair of the BOMA GLA PAC, vice chair of the Hollywood Chamber PAC, and chair of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce’s Land Use, Construction and Housing Committee. Phil also serves on the Board of the California Business Roundtable, the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, and the California Business Properties Association. Phil also volunteers his time as a Personnel Commissioner for the Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District. As someone who grew up in Texas and North Carolina, Phil is often baffled by California’s approach to governance and policy making, but does appreciate that the state’s commitment to disfunction ensures his job security. |
