Biennial Awards Ceremony to Take Place in Costa Mesa on November 7^th  

Every other year, California Business Properties Association (CBPA) honors those making an impact in the commercial real estate industry at CBPA’s Industry Awards Ceremony. The celebration will occur on Thursday, November 7^th with an exciting new event venue, Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Attendees will have the opportunity to join a guided tour of the Costa Mesa facility before connecting over bites and beverages and honoring a handful of titans of industry.  

The Rex S. Hime Champions of Industry award is named in honor of CBPA’s Founding CEO and President Emeritus and presented to individuals and/or companies who have dedicated themselves to the improvement of the office, industrial, and/or retail real estate industry in California. The 2024 honorees include:  

Champions of Industry – Retail award goes to South Coast Plaza/C.J. Segerstrom & Sons.  

Champions of Industry – Industrial award goes to Kim Snyder, Executive Director at Prologis. 

Champions of Industry - Sustainability award goes to Target for their first net zero energy store in Vista, CA - Award to be accepted by Alex Randolph, Director, Government Affairs. 

Champions of Industry – Office award goes to Phillip Tate, Senior VP, Development & Government Affairs at Kilroy Realty. 

Champions of Industry – Legal award goes to Jonathan Shardlow, Partner at Allen Matkins.  

The Project of the Year accolade highlights projects that demonstrate excellence in innovation, sustainability, architectural design, and significant contributions to the surrounding community. The 2024 Project of the Year is the Tejon Ranch Commerce Center.  

The Industry Leader Award is given in memory of Ernest W. Hahn and highlights individuals and/or organizations that go above and beyond the call of duty to impact legislative, regulatory, or public policy issues on behalf of our industry. The 2024 Industry Leader Award goes to David Lanzer, General Counsel, and Patrick Schlehuber, Chief Investment Officer, of Rexford Industrial Realty.

The Humanitarian of the Year award is given in honor of John Caldecott and recognizes a professional whose efforts go beyond business success, demonstrating a commitment to improving lives and positively impacting their community. The 2024 Humanitarian of the Year is Arturo Sneider, CEO/ Partner at Primestor Development. 

The Newcomer of the Year award highlights those who have made significant contributions, shown leadership, and displayed potential for significant future impact within the industry. The 2024 Newcomer of the Year is Catalyst Commercial Group – Award to be accepted by Nick Corbell, Managing Partner.   

The Ray Magnussen Memorial Award honors the commitment to protecting our industry in honor of Ray Magnussen who demonstrated excellence as a service provider. The 2024 Ray Magnussen Memorial Award recipient is Ellen Ticknor, Director of Client Relations with Seide Law.
