    This week AB 2565 (Muratsuchi; D-Torrance) was amended to require at least one percent of parking stalls have an electric vehicle charging station installed for all lots with 51 or more spaces.

    We have received lots of feedback regarding, costs, operational issues, loss of use, ADA issues, and feasibility of compliance, and are working with the author to explain the significant issues related to such a mandate. Although we understand that a growing number of electric vehicles are hitting the road, we think presents an opportunity which can be met by the market and forcing property owners to get into the vehicle fueling business is not necessary.
